The Yarra Valley Hockey Club, located in Melbourne's northern suburb of Ivanhoe was formed in 1977 with the amalgamation of the Fairfield Hockey Club (established 1906) and the Ivanhoe Hockey (established 1930).

The Club operates a state-of-the-art facility located at the Cyril Cummins Reserve, 67 Liberty Parade, Ivanhoe (Melways reference 31, C4).

In 2010, the Yarra Valley Hockey Club will enter a total of 15 Men's, Women's and Veteran's Senior teams, plus 19 Junior and Minkey teams.  This is up from a total of 21 teams in 1995).
