Trevor Bannan

It is with great pleasure and anticipation that we announce that the iconic centre forward from our only State League 1 premiership team, Trevor Bannan, has been appointed as coach of our Men's State League side for 2010.

Since Trevor's very successful playing career, he has been a very successful and much travelled coach gaining extensive knowledge and experience at both State, club and development levels.

Trevor's coaching experience includes:

  • Victorian U/18 Women, Victorian U/21 Women, Victorian U/17 Women
  • Eastern Hotshots U/14 Boy, Central U/18 Girls  (State Championships)
  • Victorian Vipers Selector, Victorian Junior Selector, Vicstix Head Coach
  • Southern United SL1 Women
  • Geelong SL2 Women
  • MCC SL1 / PA Women
  • Yarra Valley SL2 Men
  • Yarra Valley SL2 Women
  • Doncaster SL1 Women
  • Moorabbin SL 1 Men

Trevor's playing career also saw him as very successful, playing SL1 for many years including a SL1 premiership with Yarra Valley and representing Victoria at both junior and U/21 levels.

Trevor is very excited about returning to the club and helping us back to being a strong force in Victorian Hockey.

He is also very much looking forward to meeting with the players to outline his plans for 2010 and beyond; the meeting is planned for 7pm Wed 16  December, at the clubrooms.

Trevor also has some high expectations of the playing group and giving everybody an equal opportunity to show their talents. His aim is to also work closely with our new Junior Coaching Co-ordinator Sean Walsh to further develop our talented junior players and provide a pathway for our juniors into senior ranks. Trevor will also be working closely with Lou in integrating our men's and women's teams to strengthen the club values and culture.

Gary Anquetil

The club has appointed Gary Anquetil as an assistant to Trevor Bannan and as match day coach for Pennant B. Gary has had an extensive background in coaching including stints at Bendigo / Central Vic - Men's and Women's, Essendon - playing men's and coaching Women's, Waverley - women's and more recently with Kew - women. Gary is currently the coach of both the Australian and Victorian Women's Veteran's teams. Gary is a personal trainer and with his knowledge and skills will compliment Trevor to form a very formidable coaching panel for the men's club for 2010. Gary is very much looking forward to meeting with everyone on the 28th January at our first training session.

Lets all welcome both Trevor and Gary to the club and give them both all of our support to ensure the 2010 season is a successful one.
