The Veterans Section of the club - known as the Vets, the Old Fogies, The Grumpies, and some other names - have 5 sides in the various Mens competitions. There may be a Veterans Womens side, depending on numbers, but there was not one in 2009.
In the Over 40's competitions - played on Monday nights - we have a B grade, a C grade and and E grade, and we have 2 teams in the Over 50's "Super Vets" competition, who play on Wednesday nights. Clearly, anyone over 50 can play in the Over 40's, but not the other way around.
Grading and selection is based on a mixture of skill and desire - if you've never picked up a stick and you want to play, that's no problem, but it's unlikely you'll play in B grade. (At least for your first couple of games, anyway.)
Squads of about 16 are pretty useful, as there will always be people missing due to work commitments, or the results of wanting your body to do what it did 20 years ago - you'll get good game time with great camaraderie.
