Juniors
The 2013 Hockey Season commenced training the week of 4 March 13 April. All junior teams are full, so any new players wanting to be on a team should first contact the appropriate age group coordinator. Training days and times are:
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday / Saturday |
| U10s | U16 mixed | U14 mixed | U12 mixed | Junior matches are played |
| U16 girls | U12 girls | |||
| U14 girls | ||||
| All teams train from 5:30–6:45pm. | ||||
| If players are unable to train on the night their team trains, they can train on another night, after discussion with age group coordinator, see Contacts. | ||||
Players who are U17 may be able to play in the U16 competition. However, they should first contact the U16 Age Group Coordinator, Zita Schmuki to assess eligibility and availability of places on teams. At the start of season team are full, but some flexibility may be possible.
Where Yarra is entering multiple teams in an age group and one is at the Shield (A) or Pennant (P) level, a selection process will be conducted to set the playing list for these teams. Read the Yarra Junior Selection policy.
Yarra enters teams in both the Mixed and Girls competitions, where possible, and girls can play in either competition. Age Group Coordinators will seek to understand the girls’ playing preference. The Club does its best to provide everyone’s first preference, though it can’t always be guaranteed as there is a need to ensure there are enough players for all teams.
Our colours gold, blue and white are used where we have multiple teams entered in the same competition level.
Age group coordinators are the primary information points for the junior section of the Club. 2013 Age Group Coordinators are:
- U10 – Jacquie Down
- U12 – Kate Adcock
- U14 – Sallie Carman
- U16 – Zita Schmuki
To play, you need to register with Yarra and also with Hockey Victoria before the season starts.
