Hopefully you have been following communications on the YVHC website about recent developments.
As result of the recent State Government’s relaxation of its COVID-19 response, we have received permission from Banyule Council to restart our training but under strict hygiene Guidelines.
Training sessions will commence Monday, 25 May 2020. I have attached a copy of the Guidelines. Please ensure that you are familiar with the document.
The Guidelines essentially capture the Club’s submission to Banyule Council. There are some minor modifications:
--At this stage, Junior training is on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Monday and Friday training sessions will not occur unless there is a need.
--To attend a session, you must register on-line. To register, please fill out the form below : (If you need to submit again for another child or week just refresh this page or the button offered after submission).
The key points stated in the Guidelines are:
--If a player show signs of COVID-19 symptoms, they should not attend training (see attachment, Guidelines for symptoms).
--There will be two training sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for junior teams (see attachment, Guidelines for specific times).
--The field will be halved into Group A and Group B for each session (10 players plus coaches/support staff).
--Players will not be permitted to get to the ground more than 10 minutes before their session starts.
--Groups A and B will have separate designated parking, facilities and player access/exit. The two groups will not interact with each other.
--There will be appropriate signage and use of cones to ensure direction.
--Hand sanitisers will be available at player access/exit points and toilets.
--There will be no spectators allowed. Parents will be required to wait in their car etc.
--Players will be required to bring their own drink bottles (the communal drinking tap will not be available).
--There will be no exchange of hockey sticks or any other equipment.
--Each session will have their own unique set of balls and cones.
--Balls will be sterilised in bleach after each session for the following week.
--At first instance, each player is only allowed to attend one session per week. If there are available spaces, closer to the time, we will open up the online registration for those players wanting to attend a second training session.
--There will be Club officials available to assist with compliance.
At this stage, and until further guidance from both the State Government and Hockey Victoria, the season start date has yet to be determined.
Given that training will commence on Monday, 25 May 2020, there will not be any further Zoom training sessions.
